St. Francis College of Education, Hohoe, is a well-known public Catholic teacher education institution of higher learning in the Volta Region of Ghana. A.The Position: VICE PRINCIPAL

The Role of The Vice Principal Shall:

Be responsible to the Principal of the College.

Assist the Principal in the overall management and administration of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act 2012 (Act847), and the Harmonised Statutes for Colleges of Education.

Act as Principal in the absence of the Principal of the College.

Perform any other roles, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the College Principal.

Required qualification and experience Applicant must:

Have a good character with a high degree of personal integrity.

Be a distinguished master teacher and scholar in Teaching and Learning.

At least, be of Principal Tutor rank in a College of Education or Senior Lecturer or above in a university or analogous institution.

Have a minimum of researched Master’s degree. A doctoral degree (i.e.,Ph.D., Ed.D.etc.) in a relevant area of specialization will be an added advantage.

Have,at least, five(5) years of relevant experience in a senior management position with good knowledge and working experience in the tertiary education landscape in Ghana.

Terms of Appointment 

Applicant must be able to complete at least one term of three (3) years before attaining a compulsory retirement age of sixty (60) years.

Terms and conditions of appointment shall be determined by the College Governing Council in line with the provisions of the Harmonised Conditions of Service for Colleges of Education.

The Vice Principal shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and may be eligible for re-appointment, subject to satisfactory performance,provided that no part of the second term extends beyond the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.

The remuneration package for the post is attractive and competitive.

B. The Position: COLLEGE INTERNAL AUDITOR 

The Role

The College Internal Auditor is the head of the College’s internal audit unit. He/she provides independent, objective and consulting services designed to add value and improve the College’s operations. He/she also provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes of the College.

The College Internal Auditor shall:

Exercise professional and administrative supervision over staff in the Internal Audit unit to ensure that

the internal auditing system of the College is efficient and effective.

In accordance with the Internal Audit Agency Act 2003 (Act 658) and in conformity with standards and procedures provided by the Agency, set up under the Act, carry out periodic internal audit of the College and submit reports thereof to the Audit Report Implementation Committee through the Principal of the College.

Perform any other roles, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the College Principal.

Required qualification and experience of the applicant must: 

Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable qualification from a recognised institution.

Be a member of a recognised accountancy professional body as well as a member of the Institute of

Internal Auditors and in good standing.

Have served as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a University, College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years.

C. The Position: COLLEGE LIBRARIAN 

The Role

The College Librarian has overall responsibility for library, research and information needs of the College community. He/she provides leadership in advancing the College’s teaching and mission through a clear vision of the library’s role, comprehensive strategic planning and incorporation of emerging technology, sound fiscal management and engagement of all members in the college community.

The College Librarian shall:

Draw up a monitoring and implementation scheme of the College Library Strategic Plan.

Direct and coordinate the components of the library i.e.,staff, services, collections and external relations.

Establish and maintain procedures, policies and systems that make for efficient library operation.

Plan, organize, coordinate and measure the work activities of all library personnel.

Represent the library in contacts with the Administration and Committees of the College.

Collaborate with the relevant and appropriate institutional libraries and organisations within and outside the country to keep up with development trends and attain exposure to developed systems.

Required qualification and experience

The applicant must:

Possess Master’sdegree in Library Studies, Information Science, Information Studies or related field from a recognized institution. A doctoral degree in Library Studies or Information Studies or related field will be an added advantage.

Have served as Deputy Librarian in a university, College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years.

Be conversant with library records management software.

Be analytical, informative and research oriented.

Have a good character, leadership skills, and high degree of professional integrity.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salary and condition of service attached to the positions are attractive and are in accordance with the approved Harmonised Conditions of Service for Colleges of Education.
